Se acerca la temporada de Halloween y ya se alistan los estrenos del cine de terror que los amantes de lo creepy esperamos a lo largo de todo el año. México ha iniciado intentos significativos por revivir un género prácticamente desaparecido en el país, producto de la debacle que vive la industria nacional en el momento actual. Es por ello que llama la atención el anuncio del estreno de esta cinta, 666. The beginning of the end, que a pesar del título, es de manufactura mexicana, rodada en Cuernavaca y escrita, dirigida y producida por mexicanos.
La historia es un drama terrorífico que se inscribe dentro de las historias de la llegada de la bestia y el anticristo. De enorme seducción, esta batalla del bien contra el mal, incluye profecías, exorcismos y signos apocalípticos de que se acerca el fin de los tiempos.
Y la verdad que a pesar de constituir toda una corriente dentro del género de terror- trillada para algunos- no nos cansamos de presenciar la posible batalla final. Si, tal vez ya sabemos que el diablo pierde... pero es un hecho que cada vez le cuesta menos trabajo.
Dirigida y escrita por Joaquín Rodríguez y producida por Kerem Gamma y Christopher Chabot; cuenta con la actuaciones de Fiann Paul, Emily Dean, Federico Dordei, Mario Ernesto Sánchez,Steve Wilcox, Gabriela Sosa y Ozbourne Williams.
Esta producida por Jaguar Pictures y el trailer ya anda circulando, lo pueden ver aquí. Se puede apreciar que esta hablada en italiano,inglés sánscrito y español. Y de lo poco que se ve, el exorcismo parece bien cuidado, aunque sería bueno verlo completo, porque el texto no parece el del rito original. En fin, eso podremos corroborarlo una vez que esté en pantalla.

Wow! Al menos a mi ya me prendió la curiosidad y por que no decirlo, la esperanza de que esta producción trascienda como un ejercicio serio y destacado del género.

Written and directed by the unknown, small time, Mexican director Joaquin Rodriguez. This movie landed in my hands two weeks ago, when a brave member of the post-production team brought me rough copy of the film.
The film is a direct attack to Christianity and Catholicism to the point of portraying the Holy Pope as the facilitator for the arrival of the Antichrist to religious power. This feature is charged with rage, unfounded historical statements and extreme negative position against the Catholic Church and the Vatican. Presenting a theory of a nonexistent prophecy where the Catholic Church is allied with Satan to control the world.
Even though the movie is an independent film with very little chances to reach the international screens, we can¹t lower our guard. We have a responsibility as Catholics to be united in a strong opposition to this film that sends a very offensive message about our faith.
The anonymous person, who provides me with a copy of the film, also brought to my attention the next script from the same author ³Time Warrior² the story is charged, again, with vicious attacks to the Catholic Church, promoting Satanism, sex and violence.
We have to keep in mind the name of this author Joaquin Rodriguez who seams to have a very dark agenda against our faith.
666 The beginning of the end it has been picked up by Lionsgate a US-Canadian studio and distribution company that specializes in horror films. Now we have to overwhelm this studio with letters, emails or any other form of communication directed to its chairman Danny St. Pierre to prevent them from realizing this offensive film. Mr. St. Pierre is Catholic and I¹m sure he is not aware of the type of film his company is about to release.
