El Proyecto de Cineastas Independientes (Independent Filmmaker Project, IFP) ha anunciado a los nominados que conforman la edición 27 de los Premios Gotham 2017.
La organización más grande en los Estados Unidos dedicada a la escena indy, reconoce anualmente a los cineastas independientes con el galardón entregado en la ciudad de Nueva York, apodado Gotham Award.
Este 2017, se presentarán diez categorías competitivas a producciones y series independientes.
Las nominaciones las lidera la sensación de terror dirigida por Jordan Peele, Get Out (puedes leer la crítica de Cine3 aquí), que consiguió cuatro nominaciones como Mejor Película, Director Revelación, Mejor Guion y Mejor Actor.
Call Me By Your Name, Lady Bird y The Florida Project, le siguen de cerca con tres nominaciones para cada uno.
Las series de televisión no se quedan fuera. Catalogadas en formato largo y formato corto, los nominados incluyen a Atlanta, Dear White People y Fleabag por mencionar a algunas de ellas.
Los Gotham también rendirán homenaje a los actores Nicole Kidman y Dustin Hoffman, a la directora Sofia Coppola, el productor Jason Blum, el cinefotógrafo Ed Lachman y el Homenaje Humanitario a Al Gore.
Un comité conformado por críticos de cine, periodistas, programadores de festivales, escogen a los nominados año con año. Otro jurado constituido por guionistas, directores, actores, productores y editores, elige a los ganadores por medio de una votación en línea que iniciará el próximo 17 de noviembre.
Los Gotham Awards serán entregados el lunes 27 de noviembre.
