Esta semana hemos arrancado con los distintos anuncios de ceremonias de premiación como las nominaciones a los Golden Globes 2022, las nominaciones de los Critics Choice Awards 2022, y ahora, toca turno de conocer las nominaciones correspondientes a la edición 37 de los Film Independent Spirit Awards, que fueron anunciadas la mañana de este martes 14 de diciembre a través de un live stream conducido por Beanie Feldstein, Regina Hall, y Naomi Watts (vía sitio oficial).
Las nominaciones fueron dominadas por el estudio A24, que obtuvo 13 candidaturas con películas como C’mon, C’mon, Zola, The Humans, y Red Rocket.
La mencionada Zola, de la directora Janicza Bravo, lidera las nominaciones con 7 candidaturas, incluyendo Mejor Película, seguida por The Novice, con 5 candidaturas.
OJO AL DATO: Para ser elegible a los FISA, el filme debe tener un presupuesto de hasta $22.5 millones de dólares. Por esa razón, películas como The Power of the Dog, Tick, Tick, Boom, Don’t Look Up, The Harder They Fall, y Belfast, no fueron elegibles.
Los Spirit Awards, que anualmente reconocen lo mejor del cine y televisión independiente, realizarán la ceremonia de manera presencial, luego que la edición de 2021 optara por hacerlo virtual. La gala se llevará a cabo el sábado 6 de marzo de 2022 en Santa Mónica, CA. Su fecha confirma que se celebrarán tres semanas antes que el Premio Óscar 2022, rompiendo la tradición de realizarse el sábado de la antesala del Óscar. La emisión en vivo corre a cargo de IFC en los Estados Unidos.
