La Asociación Americana de Personas Jubiladas (AARP), publicó una articulo en su revista sobre las mejores películas de 2009 para un público de más de cincuenta años.
En la novena edición del Cine para adultos selecciono a "Invictus", de Clint Eastwood como la mejor película y Robert De Niro fue galardonado con el premio Lifetime Achievement. "Avatar", la película más taquillera de todos los tiempos, al parecer, no impresiono a los miembros de AARP.
