La Academia del Premio Óscar presenta a sus nuevos miembros

La Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas (Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences) encargada de entregar el Premio Óscar año con año, continúa su campaña por diversificar los miembros de su organización, constituida principalmente por gente blanca.

Tras verse en la mira de la crítica de la resonada protesta #OscarsSoWhite, la organización se ha propuesto a invitar a formar parte de la misma, a profesionales del cine que sean fiel reflejo no sólo de la industria, sino del mundo en general.

La invitación anual alcanzó un número récord de 774, superando el impuesto en 2016. Para tener una mejor idea de la relevancia, entre los años 2004 y 2012, el promedio era de 133. En 2013 fue de 276 y en 2014 de 271. En 2015 se entregaron 322 invitaciones y como en 2016 se invitaron a 683 miembros nuevos. Hasta enero del año en curso, los AMPAS contaban con 6687 miembros.

Entre los actores de alto perfil invitados destacan por el lado internacional, Gal Gadot, Naomie Harris, Monica Bellucci, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Omar Sy, Paz VegaRupert Grint, Ruth Negga, Margot Robbie, Simon Pegg, Riz Ahmed, Priyanka Chopra, Rami Malek, Rebel Wilson, Chris Hemsworth, y el venezolano, Edgar Ramírez.

Por el lado estadounidense, encontramos a Chris EvansLeslie Jones, Kristen Stewart, Dwayne Johnson, Donald Glover, Adam Driver, Betty White, Chris Pratt, Anna Faris, Debbie Allen, Amy Poehler, Channing Tatum, Shailene Woodley, Elle Fanning, Keegan-Michael Key, Amanda Seyfried, Hailee Steinfeld y Viggo Mortensen.

Algunos de los directores invitados son, Barry Jenkins, Jordan Peele, David Ayer, los Hermanos Russo, Theodore Melfi, Guy Ritchie y Joss Whedon. Destaca el cineasta chileno de gran trayectoria, Alejandro Jodorowsky.

La nueva generación representa a un total de 57 países. El 39% son mujeres según informa la Academia. El año pasado este número quedaba en 28%.
