La Academia quiere quitarse el estereotipo

Como bien les habíamos dicho, la Academia busca renovarse, esto después de tanta controversia, y quitarse el estereotipo de solo 'viejos hombres blancos'.

Hace tiempo les habíamos dicho que la academia buscaba esto con más de 300 miembros nuevos estos invitados, para atraer más diversidad a las votaciones que decidirán lo mejor del cine americano el próximo año, y sin duda los invitados podrán afectar sin duda el rumbo de las votaciones y la demografía de la organización.

Entre algunos de los invitados que fueron anunciados hay celebridades como David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Felicity Jones, Emma Stone, Rosamund Pike, Bong Joon-ho, Justin Lin y Francois Ozon. Esto para expandir la variedad de mujeres, razas y etnias dentro de la organización.

Esto se ha dado después de que en Enero de nueva cuenta surgiera la lista de nominados al Oscar, dominada por hombres caucásicos esto entre las 20 categorías, con pocas mujeres y hombres de otras razas. Lo cual provocó una gran cantidad de protestas y acciones por diferentes directores y actores. Especialmente cuando 323 cintas fueron elegibles para algún premio durante la premiación de 2014, lo cual en teoría da que al menos una gran mayoría fue dirigida por mujeres dando una mayor elegibilidad, a las pocas que realmente fueron nominadas.

La Academia envió 271 invitaciones el año pasado, con 276 en 2013, incrementando el número de nominados en promedio de 2004 a 2012 estos con 133 en general, aunque no hay garantía de que todos los invitados acepten, sin duda es un cambio que debe alegrar a todos los que deseamos ver un cambio.

Además de la lista que pueden leer aquí abajo, se reveló una demografía donde pueden ver los cambios que todas invitaciones traerán a las votaciones para los próximos Premios Oscar y aunque no son tantos cambios como quisiéramos, son pequeños pasos que se deben dar para cambiar las cosas en una Academia que necesita mejorar.
