Lionsgate que distribuye "The hunger games" y ha estado detrás de la producción de Weeds, Orange is the new black, Nurse Jackie y otras series populares anuncia que ha invertido en el desarrollador de juegos con licencias de moda, Telltale Games, de quien ya hemos dicho que lo suyo más que juego es una historia interactiva.

Y parece que por ahí es donde van a encontrar el terreno en común, la formula más que exprimida de Telltale games (que podemos ver en Game Of Thrones – A Telltale Games Series) será usada para desarrollar el concepto de SUPERSHOW , así se llama el formato, y su primera experiencia será una propiedad original, alejándose un poco de las licencias que es lo que ha colocado a Telltale en el lugar de privilegio en que se encuentra.

Un "supershow" es un episodio que combina una sección de contenido interactivo "jugable" con otra parte que sigue un guión. La unión de ambas mitades es lo que da origen al supershow. Conforme hemos desarrollado la serie, hemos utilizado ambos medios para ir contando nuestra historia. Desarrollar los dos elementos en paralelos es fundamental para este nuevo medio. Las dos partes son igual de importantes durante las etapas de guionizado y diseño, no es una serie interactiva con un programa, tampoco un show de Tv con un juego, sino una historia integrada de un modo que sólo telltale puede, para nosotros es la evolución natural de la manera de contar historias de la que somos pioneros.

Dicho lo cual, los contenidos de TV y juegos se producen de maneras distintas y en calendarios dispares, la acción viva que sigue un guión tiene un calendario muy estricto, mientras que los juegos requieren de más iteraciones y flexibilidad. Integrar estos dos muy distintos esquemas de producción es un gran reto, pero hemos estados produciendo juegos episodicos por cerca de diez años y hemos incorporado muchas técnicas del mundo de la tv a nuestro flujo de trabajo.

Los Supershow tendrán mucho contenido, mucho más que una hora típica de TV, con esto en mente, los iremos liberando en un calendario más parecido al de un show televisivo, aún con más tiempo entre episodios para que las audiencias tengan tiempo de consumirlos y discutirlos es sus computadoras, consolas, tabletas y teléfonos móviles.

Yo creo que hay que darles el beneficio de la duda, pero no es la primera vez que una serie o película intenta existir en diferentes medios y fracasa, y Telltale la verdad creo que no juzga con la debida severidad la parte "interactiva" de sus "juegos".
