La temporada de premios 2022-23 arrancó esta semana dando a conocer las nominaciones a los Golden Globes 2023, y ahora, toca turno de conocer a los nominados de los Premios de la Crítica o Critics Choice Awards (vía sitio oficial).
La Asociación de Críticos de Cine (Broadcast Film Critics Association, BFCA; por sus siglas en inglés) reveló a sus elegidos, correspondientes a la edición 28, a lo mejor del cine del año 2022, con Everything Everywhere All at Once de Daniels liderando con 14 candidaturas, incluyendo mejor película.
Le siguen de cerca The Fabelmans de Steven Spielberg con 11 nominaciones, Babylon de Damien Chazelle, y The Banshees of Inisherin con 9.
La categoría a mejor película se peleará entre Avatar: The Way of Water, Babylon, The Banshees of Inisherin, Elvis, The Fabelmans, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, RRR, Tár, Top Gun: Maverick y Women Talking. Con la excepción de Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) y Rian Johnson (Glass Onion), los directores de los otros nueve largometrajes están entre los diez nominados a mejor director, junto a Gina Prince-Bythewood por The Woman King.
Bardo de Alejandro González Iñárritu fue nominada a mejor película extranjera, mientras que Pinocchio de Guillermo del Toro, fue nominada a mejor película animada y mejor banda sonora original (Alexandre Desplat).
Anteriormente la organización dio a conocer que Abbott Elementary lidera las categorías de televisión con 6 candidaturas, mientras que Better Call Saul le sigue con 5, Gaslit, Reservation Dogs, y The Good Fight tienen cuatro cada una.
Jeff Bridges recibirá el Critics Choice Lifetime Achievement Award en la ceremonia que se llevará a cabo el 15 de enero de 2023 en el Fairmont Century Plaza en Los Ángeles, con Chelsea Handler como anfitriona.
