Y los nominados son…
Durante la madrugada de este jueves 22 de enero, la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas (AMPAS) reveló las nominaciones al Premio Óscar 2026, correspondientes a la edición 98 del galardón más codiciado de la industria cinematográfica.
Sinners de Ryan Coogler, dominó con unas históricas 16 nominaciones, rompiendo el récord como la película más nominada en la historia del Óscar, superando las 14 nominaciones de All About Eve (1950), Titanic (19797) y La La Land (2016).
Sinners compite en las categorías a Mejor Película, Actor, Actriz de Reparto, Actor de Reparto, Director, Guion Original, Banda Sonora, Canción Original, Cinematografía, Diseño de Producción, Diseño de Vestuario, Sonido, Edición, Maquillaje y Peinado, Casting, y Efectos Visuales.
One Battle After Another de Paul Thomas Anderson le sigue en la contienda con 13 nominaciones. Ambas películas son una producción de Warner Bros.
Frankenstein, Marty Supreme y Sentimental Value obtuvieron 9 nominaciones, cada una, con Hamnet siguiendo de cerca con 8 nominaciones.
Las ausencias que sorprendieron: Guillermo del Toro (Frankenstein) a mejor director, Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another) en la categoría a mejor actriz en rol protagónico, y Paul Mescal (Hamnet) a mejor actor en rol de reparto.
Probablemente la mayor sorpresa del anuncio fue que Wicked: For Good, no fue nominada en lo absoluto, sobretodo teniendo en cuenta que su antecesora obtuvo 10 nominaciones en la ceremonia del año anterior, llevándose a casa dos estatuillas doradas.
No Other Choice de Park Chan-wook es otra de las que se quedó en cero, lo cual resulta difícil de creer dada la enorme calidad de su proyecto.

La edición 98 de la noche más importante de Hollywood se realizará el domingo 15 de marzo de 2026 desde el Dolby Theater en Los Ángeles, emitida en vivo por ABC y Hulu en los Estados Unidos, y por TNT y HBO Max en México y resto de Latinoamérica. Conan O’Brien será el anfitrión por segundo año consecutivo.
