La noche del sábado, la Asociación de Críticos de Televisión (Television Critics Association) entregó los premios que reconocen lo mejor en el rubro. Recordemos que el pasado 22 de junio se dieron a conocer las nominaciones, que se encontraban lideradas por The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story de FX y Mr. Robot de USA Network, cada una con cuatro menciones.
En la edición número 32 de los TCA Awards, cuyo anfitrión fue por primera vez el actor mexicano Jaime Camil, el show más ganador –con 3 premios- fue American Crime Story, llevándose a casa Logro Individual en Drama para Sarah Paulson; Mejor Miniserie y Programa del Año. Por su parte, la serie que se ha colocado rápidamente entre el gusto del público, Mr. Robot, se hizo acreedora al premio como Mejor Programa Nuevo; The Americans obtuvo Mejor Drama por segundo año consecutivo, imponiéndose a Better Call Saul, Game of Thrones, The Leftovers y UnREAL. Y el exitoso documental de Netflix, Making a Murderer levantó el galardón como Mejor Reality. La ceremonia, que no fue televisada, se llevó a cabo en el Beverly Hilton de Beverly Hills, lugar que se encuentra actualmente albergando el TCA Summer Press Tour.
