La mañana de este lunes 11 de diciembre de 2023, se reveló la lista de todos los nominados en categorías de cine y televisión de la edición 81 de los Golden Globes.
El anuncio, hecho por Wilmer Valderrama y Cedric the Entertainer, estuvo liderado por Barbie y Succession. Cada una de ellas obtuvo 9 nominaciones en las categorías de cine y de tv, respectivamente.
A Barbie le sigue de cerca Oppenheimer con 8 nominaciones, Killers of the Flower Moon y Poor Things con 7 nominaciones cada una.
Al desplegar nominaciones por distribuidora, Netflix es la líder con 13 nominaciones en total, seguida de Warner Bros. Pictures con 12.
En el rubro televisivo, Succession es seguida por The Bear y Only Murders in the Building, con 5 nominaciones para cada una, y The Crown con 4.
HBO/Max es la distribuidora líder con 17 nominaciones en total, seguida por Netflix con 15.
Otras producciones que se esperaba que obtuvieran una o varias nominaciones, se quedaron con las manos vacías, como el caso de Ferrari, Napoleon, Origin, y Swarm.
Las nominaciones incluyeron por primera vez dos nuevas categorías, reconociendo logros en Películas Taquilleras y comedia Stand Up. La categoría a Película Taquillera incluye a 8 nominadas, “con un ingreso de taquilla total/bruto de $150 millones de dólares, de los cuales $100 millones de dólares deben provenir de la taquilla estadounidense, y/o obtener una audiencia de transmisión digital proporcional reconocida por fuentes confiables de la industria”, de acuerdo a información compartida en noviembre pasado. Las películas estrenadas después del 22 de noviembre hasta fin de año “pueden calificar según el desempeño de taquilla proyectado y/o las vistas de transmisión digital de fuentes confiables de la industria”.
Los nominados de esta categoría son Barbie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, y Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.
En cuanto a la categoría de mejor actuación en stand-up Comedy en televisión, que contará con seis comediantes nominados que realizaron "actuaciones tradicionales de stand-up Comedy de al menos 30 minutos, distintas de papeles en series de televisión, series limitadas, series de antología o películas realizadas para televisión” en “una plataforma de medios reconocida (las cuentas individuales de redes sociales no califican)”, los nominados inaugurales son Ricky Gervais, Trevor Noah, Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman y Wanda Sykes.
OJO AL DATO:
- Los Globos de Oro 2024 marcan los primeros desde que el antiguo patrocinador de los Globos de Oro, la Asociación de Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood (HFPA), fue reemplazado tras la adquisición de todos los activos, derechos y propiedades de la HFPA por parte de Dick Clark Productions y Eldridge. Dick Clark Productions ahora posee y produce los Golden Globe Awards. DCP es propiedad de Penske Media Eldridge, una empresa conjunta entre Penske Media Corporation y Eldridge.
- Dado que los Globos ya no están supervisados por la HFPA, un nuevo grupo de votantes racial y étnicamente diverso, compuesto por 300 periodistas de todo el mundo, que representan a 76 países, está seleccionando a los nominados y ganadores de este año.
- En noviembre, los Globos firmaron un nuevo acuerdo de transmisión con CBS después de que el grupo de premios terminara su relación de larga data con NBC, que transmitió los Globos de Oro 2023, a principios de este año.
La ceremonia de la edición 81 de los Globos de Oro, tendrá lugar el domingo 7 de enero de 2024 desde el Beverly Hilton. La transmisión en vivo correrá a cargo de CBS y el streamer Paramount+.
