Nominaciones al Óscar 2021: Mank lidera el anuncio con 10 candidaturas

La madrugada de este lunes 15 de marzo, la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas (AMPAS, por sus siglas en inglés) también conocida como la Academia del Óscar, reveló la esperada lista de los nominados a las 23 categorías que conforman la edición 93 del Premio Óscar.

El anuncio conducido por Priyanka Chopra Jonas y Nick Jonas, se realizó a través de un stream global vía sitio oficial del Premio de la Academia.

La película Mank de David Fincher lidera las nominaciones con 10 menciones, incluyendo Mejor Película, Mejor Director, Mejor Actor (Gary Oldman) y Mejor Actriz de Reparto (Amanda Seyfried). Le siguen The Father, Judas and the Black Messiah, Minari, Nomadland, Sound of Metal y The Trial of the Chicago 7 con 6 nominaciones para cada una; Promising Young Woman recibió 5 nominaciones.

Tanto Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman) como Chlóe Zhao (Nomadland), fueron nominadas en la categoría a Mejor Director, convirtiéndose así en las primeras dos mujeres en ser nominadas el mismo año en dicha categoría en los 93 años de historia del galardón. Las cineastas se medirán ante la otra gran sorpresa de la categoría Thomas Vinterberg (Another Round), David Fincher (Mank), y Lee Isaac Chung (Minari).

Los Premios Óscar 2021 se celebrarán de manera simultánea tanto en el Union Station de Los Ángeles y el Dolby Theatre el 25 de abril de 2021, tras haber tenido que posponer la ceremonia pactada para el 28 de febrero pasado. La transmisión en vivo correrá a cargo de TNT en Latinoamérica.
