Critics Choice Awards 2020: Lista completa de nominados
La temporada de premios 2019-2020 continúa tomando forma con el anuncio de la Asociación de Críticos de Cine (Broadcast Film Critics Association, BFCA; por sus siglas en inglés) y la Asociación de Periodistas Críticos de Televisión (Broadcast Television Journalists Association, BTJA; por sus siglas en inglés), revelando a los nominados que conforman la edición 25 de los Critics Choice Awards, también conocidos como Premios de la Crítica (vía sitio oficial).
La Asociación está conformada por más de 300 periodistas especializados en televisión, radio, y medios en línea, quienes desde hace 25 años votan por lo mejor de la temporada. Tradicionalmente se considera a los Critics Choice como la predicción más certera de las nominaciones del Premio Óscar.
Las nominaciones de este año son lideradas por el drama The Irishman de Martin Scorsese con 14 menciones, incluyendo Mejor Película, Director, Elenco, Actor (Robert De Niro), Actor de Reparto (Al Pacino, Joe Pesci).
Le sigue Once Upon a Time in Hollywood de Quentin Tarantino con 12 nominaciones; Little Women de Greta Gerwig con 9 nominaciones; Marriage Story de Noah Baumbach con 8 nominaciones; y cerrando el top encontramos a Jojo Rabbit de Taika Waititi y Parasite de Bong Joon-Ho con 7 nominaciones para cada una.
En las categorías actorales, Scarlett Johansson aterrizó nominaciones por partida doble, tanto por su trabajo en Marriage Story, como por Jojo Rabbit. En tanto, Baumbach, Gerwig, Joon-Ho y Tarantino, lograron nominaciones a guion y dirección.
Como ya viene mostrando la tendencia, Netflix dominó las nominaciones con un total de 30, gracias a sus producciones originales Marriage Story y The Irishman. El drama del streaming, The Two Popes, figura con nominaciones a Anthony Hopkins como Actor de Reparto, y Anthony McCarten por Guion Adaptado.
En su edición pasada, Roma de Alfonso Cuarón se llevó a casa el Critics’ Choice a Mejor Película, Director, Fotografía y Película Internacional. Posteriormente, el cineasta mexicano tuvo una gran noche en el Premio Óscar. Por otra parte, Christian Bale ganó como Mejor Actor, Lady Gaga y Glenn Close empataron como Mejor Actriz, Mahershala Ali y Regina King alzaron el Critics’ Choice a Actor y Actriz de Reparto, respectivamente. De los mencionados, Ali y King repitieron en el Óscar.
La gala de premiación de los Critics’ Choice se celebrará el domingo 12 de enero, y serán transmitidos en vivo por The CW en Estados Unidos y canal TNT en Latinoamérica. Taye Diggs repetirá como maestro de ceremonias.
